Wait? Where's All That Fascism the Left Promised Us Was Coming?

Remember when Democrats were screaming about President Donald Trump's “fascist dictatorship” silencing Jimmy Kimmel? Well, that narrative just took a nosedive faster than Kimmel's credibility after spreading fake news about Charlie Kirk's assassination.

ABC announced Tuesday that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will return to the airwaves after a brief suspension, completely demolishing the left's hysteria about government censorship. Turns out, Trump didn't force Kimmel off the air at all. Neither did the FCC or any shadowy government agency. It was Disney and ABC themselves who made the call to temporarily suspend production after Kimmel spread false information claiming Kirk's killer was a MAGA Republican.

"It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive," Disney said in their official statement. They held "thoughtful conversations" with Kimmel over several days before deciding to bring the show back. Notice anything missing from that explanation? Any mention of government interference, Trump's dictatorial powers, or fascist overreach.

The Democrats who spent days shrieking about “attacks on free speech” and “authoritarian censorship” now look absolutely foolish. They built their entire outrage machine around the premise that Trump was weaponizing government power to silence his critics—as if a lat-night talk show host with abysmal ratings was a real threat to Trump. Instead, what we got was a private company exercising editorial discretion after their host promoted dangerous misinformation during an already volatile moment.

Kimmel had claimed on air that Kirk's assassin was "one of them," referring to MAGA supporters, despite having zero evidence to support this inflammatory accusation. "We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them," Kimmel declared, apparently confusing his political fantasies with actual facts.

Disney's spokesperson explained they suspended production "to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country." Where’s the fascism the left promised us was coming? Because I don’t see any. Weird, huh?

Of course, the same people who believed Kimmel's suspension was censorship previously cheered when Fox News fired Tucker Carlson.

That was "different," of course, because they didn't like what Tucker said.

What makes this even more ridiculous is watching leftists on social media celebrate Kimmel's return while remaining completely oblivious to how Disney reinstating Kimmel—which they say is caving to their outrage—destroys their Trump censorship narrative. If Trump were really the authoritarian strongman they claim, how could Disney be reinstating him to mock Trump on national television again?

Worst fascist dictator ever.

Unless, of course, Kimmel’s suspension was never about Trump in the first place. But don't expect the left to acknowledge what is painfully obvious anytime soon.

The situation perfectly illustrates how Democrats manufacture outrage by deliberately mis-characterizing events to fit their preferred narrative. They needed a villain for their phony censorship story, so they painted Trump as the puppet master pulling Disney's strings.

But here's the uncomfortable truth that cuts through all the political theater. Kimmel still has a job: His wife still has her husband, and their kids still have a father. When Kimmel goes back on the air Tuesday, Charlie Kirk will still be dead, his wife a widow, and their children without a father. Yet Democrats were far more outraged over Kimmel being suspended than they were over the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
