The 'No Kings' Clowns Actually Do Love Tyranny

I’ve been thinking a lot about these so-called “No Kings” protests—you know, the ones where a bunch of leftists with nothing better to do on a weekend gather to scream into the void. The media, predictably, has gone all-in hyping them up, gushing over crowd sizes and pretending this astroturfed spectacle is some organic grassroots movement. We’ve seen wall-to-wall coverage, glowing headlines, and endless commentary about the supposed significance of it all.

But for all the breathless promotion from the usual suspects, almost no one in the media has bothered to actually examine the legitimacy of the message. And that’s not by accident. When you look past the performative outrage and the Soros-backed organizing, what you find is a movement built on contradictions and zero critical thinking.

Just about every article covering the protests dutifully repeats the narrative that the “No Kings” demonstrations were some brave stand against what the left claims is authoritarian overreach by Trump and his administration. But let’s be real—any billionaire with a political agenda can bankroll a nationwide protest. That doesn’t mean the people showing up have the slightest idea what they’re actually protesting. And in this case, they clearly didn’t. The irony was staggering—waves of activists waving signs about tyranny, completely blind to the fact that they spent the last few years cheerleading real government authoritarianism under Biden.

I’m not exaggerating. Remember, these are the same people who spent years cheering for the most heavy-handed federal overreach in modern history, all because it came from a leftist messenger wrapped in the comforting packaging of “the public good.”

Remember the Covid lockdowns? The business closures? The vaccine mandates? Of course you do. Millions of Americans were told they couldn’t go to church or the beach, couldn’t visit their dying parents, and couldn’t walk outside without a mask—while the left smugly assured us it was all for our own good. Somehow, if you were participating in a BLM protest it was okay, but otherwise, you were liable to get arrested.

Spare me. The same leftists marching with “No Kings” banners to protest Trump were the ones who cheered Joe Biden’s authoritarian COVID regime. When Biden stood in front of a blood-red Independence Hall and declared Trump and his supporters a “clear and present danger” to democracy, they applauded.

They also had no issue with Biden weaponizing the federal government.

When Biden blatantly defied the courts in pursuit of his agenda, they looked the other way.

When Biden went after parents at school board meetings, treating them like domestic terrorists, they couldn’t have cared less.

When Biden targeted pro-life activists, they didn’t see anything wrong with it.

When Biden tried to put Donald Trump, his political rival, in prison, they couldn’t have been happier.

These “No Kings” protesters aren’t principled opponents of tyranny; they’re just angry their side isn’t in charge anymore.

What makes it worse is that they’ve convinced themselves they’re the honorable rebels. That somehow, by chanting slogans and waving signs, they’re the resistance fighting for what’s right. But who exactly are they resisting? The guy who wants to give power back to the people, reduce government control, and let Americans live freely? That’s who they think is acting like a “king”?

This isn’t principled opposition. It’s blind partisanship wrapped in the language of liberty. And that’s what makes it so dishonest. That’s why I’m so sick of hearing the media claim these people are against authoritarianism, when they are the chief proponents of authoritarianism when their party is in power.
