Remember when Democrats couldn’t stop chanting “no one is above the law” during their nonstop lawfare campaign against President Trump? As we always suspected, that slogan was never about principle; it was about power.
Their furious reactions to the recent arrests of two judges — one in Wisconsin, the other in New Mexico — for actively sabotaging immigration enforcement make that crystal clear. When yapping about the rule of law serves their agenda, they weaponize it; when it threatens their allies, they throw it out the window.
These supposed guardians of the law were caught red-handed trying to shield illegal immigrants from federal authorities.
Wisconsin Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested for attempting to help an illegal immigrant escape capture. Even more disturbing, New Mexico Judge Joel Cano and his wife were arrested for harboring a suspected member of the notorious Tren de Aragua gang. Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed that Cano went as far as destroying evidence by smashing the gang member's phone with a hammer and disposing of it in a city dumpster.
He must have gotten advice from Hillary Clinton.

CNN's shocked reaction to these arrests perfectly illustrates the media's double standard. The same network that breathlessly covered every phony Trump transgression suddenly seems perplexed that judges could face consequences for breaking federal law. Where are the prime-time specials about the threat to democracy when judges actively obstruct federal law enforcement?

The illegal immigrant at the center of the Wisconsin case, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, wasn't some peaceful migrant seeking a better life. According to Bondi, he was being prosecuted for brutal domestic violence. The suspect allegedly beat one victim 30 times, choked him, and assaulted a woman so severely that both victims required hospitalization. Yet Judge Dugan apparently thought protecting this violent criminal from deportation was more important than public safety.

These cases represent a disturbing trend among leftists who believe they can selectively enforce laws based on their political preferences. They've created a two-tiered justice system where immigration laws are treated as optional suggestions while their political opponents face endless prosecution.
The swift action of FBI Director Kash Patel and Bondi makes it clear that no one, not even activist judges, is truly above the law. The Trump administration is finally restoring equal justice under law by holding these rogue judges accountable. Yet countless Democrats have taken to social media pushing the narrative that Trump is just arresting federal judges.
“The Trump admin has arrested a judge in Milwaukee,” Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) said in a post on X. “This is a red alert moment. We must all rise up against it.”
“In the United States, we have a system of checks and balances and separations of power for damn good reasons,” Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) said in a statement. “The President's administration arresting a sitting judge is a gravely serious and drastic move, and it threatens to breach those very separations of power.”
“First, Trump ignored the Supreme Court. Now, his FBI arrested a judge,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren said. “This administration is threatening our country’s judicial system. This rings serious alarm bells.”
And so on. Democrats spent years lecturing Americans about the sanctity of law and order. Now that their allies are facing consequences for actual crimes, their principled stance has mysteriously vanished. The next time they try to claim the moral high ground on law enforcement, remember these judges and the left’s reaction to their arrests.
