The Left and Right Can Defeat Radical Gender Ideology Together

J.K. Rowling, the famed author of the Harry Potter series, might be a committed leftist, but she has become one of the most outspoken and fearless critics of radical gender ideology. For years, she has condemned the transitioning of children and called out men who identify as women for appropriating womanhood.

Her stance has made her a lightning rod for relentless backlash from the left — including harassment, death threats, and orchestrated efforts to cancel her. Actors who owe their fame to her have condemned her. Yet despite the onslaught, she refuses to back down.

Following President Donald Trump's executive order designed to protect women's sports, Rowling wasted no time commenting. She shared a now-iconic photo of Trump surrounded by female athletes, taking a sharp jab at the left: “Congratulations to every single person on the left who’s been campaigning to destroy women’s and girls’ rights. Without you, there’d be no images like this.” It’s a clear message that those pushing this divisive agenda have done untold harm.

Rowling continued to dissect the left’s narrative that since transgender individuals make up only a “tiny fraction of the population,” people shouldn't care what they do. She vehemently argued that the chaos unleashed by the obsession with gender ideology has severely impacted society, particularly women, saying, “When the smoke clears, it will be only too evident that this was never about a so-called vulnerable minority, notwithstanding the fact that some very vulnerable people have been harmed. The power dynamics underpinning our society have been reinforced, not dismantled. The loudest voices throughout this entire fiasco have been people insulated from consequences by their wealth and/or status.”

“They aren't likely to find themselves locked in a prison cell with a 6'4" rapist who's decided his name's now Dolores,” Rowling wrote. “They don't need state-funded rape crisis centres, nor do they ever frequent high street changing rooms. They simper from talk show sofas about those nasty far-right bigots who don't want penises swinging around the girls' showers, secure in the knowledge that their private pool remains the safe place it always was.”

Rowling warns us that "the day is fast approaching when you’ll want to pretend you always saw through the craziness and never believed it for a second." She’s probably right. As I previously reported, opposition to biological males playing women’s sports is growing rapidly, and those who continue to support it are already part of the fringe minority. It’s only a matter of time before the tide completely turns against them.

I’ve said before that it’s astonishing that we’ve reached a point where executive orders are needed to clarify basic biological truths about sex. Yet here we are. With sanity returning to this critical debate, there’s hope for justice ahead. J.K. Rowling deserves a ton of respect for continuing to stand her ground. I’m sure her voice has played a huge role in turning the tide against this insanity.

In the fight against this dangerous agenda, we have allies on both the right and the left. While we may disagree on many political issues, this is a battle that transcends partisan lines. If we stand together against radical gender ideology, we’ll defeat it that much faster.
