It's hard to believe that we have come to this point, that Trump's fate now rests with a New York City jury that is most certainly biased against him. The prosecution's case was so weak that it would normally be an easy acquittal, but it was also so weak that it never should have been brought in the first place. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg took a noncrime that was beyond the statute of limitations, bootstrapped it into a felony charge, and got an anti-Trump judge who donated to Biden's campaign to preside over the trial with a likely biased jury.
The trial, which we've been covering for weeks now, included damaging testimony to Bragg's case as well as absurd rulings from Judge Juan Merchan to hamstring Donald Trump and his defense — leaving experts on the right and left in shock.
Make no mistake: you should be bracing yourself for a conviction. A hung jury is certainly a possibility, but Bragg and Merchan have colluded to stack the deck so heavily against Trump, that it is hard to see any other outcome from this sham trial.
A guilty verdict, even if it doesn't result in prison time, would be a significant victory for the Democrats. They would gain the ability to run against Trump as a convicted felon, tarnishing his reputation and potentially swaying voters. An appeal is almost certain, and experts on both sides of the aisle agree it will likely succeed due to Merchan's judicial misconduct, but the immediate impact on public opinion could be devastating.

This brings us to a crucial question: what does this mean for the survival of our republic? That this trial has even gotten to this point is bad enough, but if political opponents can successfully abuse and manipulate the legal system to thwart the president's political opponent, who is beating him in the polls, our democracy is in grave danger.
The principle of fair and impartial justice is a cornerstone of our republic. When that principle is undermined, the very fabric of our democracy begins to unravel.
The implications are chilling. If this lawfare strategy succeeds, it sets a dangerous precedent where political power can be weaponized against opponents with little regard for justice or the rule of law. And Democrats have made it clear time and time again that they have every intention of becoming the sole ruling party. They are willing to use the power of the government to destroy their political enemies and destroy the very democracy they claim to want to protect. This is the kind of thing that we've long believed couldn't happen in the United States of America, but, thanks to the Democrats and their desperate quest for power, we are as close as we have ever been to becoming a nation too corrupt to survive.
The Democrats' relentless pursuit of Trump through lawfare has opened Pandora's box, unleashing forces that threaten the very essence of our republic. By weaponizing the legal system for political gain, they have set a dangerous precedent that could have far-reaching consequences. Their manipulation of the legal system could pave the way for a future where targeting and silencing political opponents through lawfare is the standard, not the exception.
