Fani Willis’ Testimony Was a Huge Gift for Trump

Hoo boy, it was not a good day for Fani Willis. First, a former friend of hers, Robin Yeartie, revealed that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis began her affair with prosecutor Nathan Wade in 2019—much earlier than she previously claimed in court. Nathan Wade's testimony was no help to her either. Though he claimed their relationship started in 2022, his testimony raised many questions, particularly about the trips the pair took together and his claim that even though he paid for the trips with his business credit card, she paid him back in cash and never deposited the cash in the bank—meaning there was no record.

How convenient. It's hard to imagine anyone buying that testimony.

But worse yet was when Fani Willis herself took the stand. She was hostile and belligerent, even to the judge. It's hard to understand how she thought that this was a good strategy. At one point, her outbursts resulted in a five-minute break being called.

When asked about the cash payments for Wade, her explanations didn't hold up.

Her outbursts got so out of control, the judge had to warn her that if it kept happening he''d be forced to strike her testimony.

Megyn Kelly, who watched the hearing, assessed that Willis and Wade "are toast."

Trump responded to the hearing Thursday afternoon.

"There is no case here," Trump told Fox News Digital. "It is so badly tainted. There is no case here [...] The case will have to be dropped."

He added, "There's no way they can have a case. The whole thing was a scam to get money for the boyfriend."

"This all comes out of the White House. Don’t forget Wade, the lover, he spent hours at the White House," Trump said. "This is all a weaponization of politics."

He added, "It’s all about trying to stop somebody who is killing them in the polls, and it is a sad thing to watch for our country."

But you don't have to take Kelly's or Trump's word for it that this was a disaster for Fani Willis. Even MSNBC legal analyst Caroline Polisi concluded that Willis' credibility is "completely shot."

“Don’t let the legalese fool you,” she said. “This is epic. This is monumental. If things are going in the direction we think, Fani Willis lied to the court, it’s game over for her. She will be disqualified. If they had a relationship prior to when they represented truth to the court, it’s a huge deal. I can’t overstate.”

Later, in a statement to Mediate, she added, “Willis will be disqualified, which means her entire office is disqualified, which means the case will have to be re-assigned and languish with the PAC of Georgia, effectively killing the case. Her credibility is completely shot.”
