Does It Get Any More Desperate Than This for Joe Biden?

Unless you’re living under a rock, you know that things aren’t looking good for Joe Biden right now. Polls continue to show doom for his campaign, be it in national polls or battleground state polls. Democrat insiders are speaking out, nudging Biden to ditch his ill-fated campaign, and even his biggest boosters in the media are nervous.

For example, the notoriously leftist rag Slate, which would normally never speak ill of him, is in a real panic right now. "As President Joe Biden grows increasingly mystified by his unpopularity, he is also experiencing the worst polling of his presidency,” the outlet writes. "Precisely how scared Democrats should be about Biden’s standing depends on how his plight compares with those of presidents past. And there’s no sugarcoating it: This might be the worst polling environment for an incumbent president one year out from an election since the advent of the polling era in the 1930s and also the most dire situation facing any Democratic presidential candidate in decades. Panic is entirely warranted."

The report notes that Biden's approval ratings are worse than those any of his predecessors when they sought reelection: "Bush was sporting 58 percent favorability at this stage in the 2004 cycle, with nearly a 21-point net favorability. Obama was at 45 percent with a net negative approval of -4 points." Trump had a -8.8 net approval, which sounds bad, but Joe Biden's net approval is nearly twice as bad at -15.4.

Ouch.

Publicly, the Biden campaign doesn’t act concerned about the polls right now, but privately it's a different story. According to a recent report, Biden is “frustrated” by his low poll numbers and seems perplexed as to why his economic messaging hasn’t convinced people everything is fine and dandy.

So let's recap. Biden's economic messaging has failed and his administration's efforts to throw Trump in jail have just made him more popular. What is Biden to do?

Well, it's the most desperate play in the book: play the Hitler card.

In the past few weeks, we've heard the media attempt to make the case that Trump's rhetoric is somehow akin to the rhetoric used by Hitler. So, naturally, Trump equals Hitler. Apparently, it wasn't enough for the media to play the Hitler card, because now the Biden campaign is, too.

And this isn't something that some rogue intern can be blamed for. Biden himself has made the comparison. Earlier this week, Biden compared Trump's immigration rhetoric to messaging "coming out of Germany in the '30s."

That the primaries haven't even started yet and the "Trump is Hitler" rhetoric is already being used tells us just how panicked and desperate the left is about this election. This rhetoric isn't helpful in political discourse. Democrats have often resorted to using apocalyptic rhetoric about their opponents, and yet those predictions never come true. A quick search online will yield quite a few examples of leftists predicting in 2016 that Trump would open up internment and concentration camps if he were elected president.

If the liberal media and Joe Biden are playing the Nazi card now, what kind of insane rhetoric will they be using six months from now?
