I know this is cliché to say, but really, if it weren’t for double standards, Democrats would have no standards at all.
Earlier this year, the internet erupted at the news that the Biden administration was considering a national ban on gas stoves because, of course, gas stoves are racist. Seriously, that’s the reason why. While 40% of Americans (myself included) have gas stoves in their home, the Environmental Protection Agency and the World Health Organization say they emit dangerous levels of nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and fine particulate matter, and Democrats say that these emissions are a “cumulative burden” on black, Latino, and low-income households.
I know it’s stupid — don’t blame me, I’m just the messenger here.
The administration eventually backtracked, but it soon became clear that a gas stove ban was absolutely still in the works. Still, it was quite ironic how many Democrats, in an attempt to show how down to earth they really are, shared picture on social media of themselves cooking at home on these dangerous and racist ovens.

The most famous example would be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who claimed on social media that "that ongoing exposure to NO2 from gas stoves is linked to reduced cognitive performance” and then, hours later, was mocked by Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) who shared a screenshot from one of AOC’s social media livestreams of her cooking on the gas stove in her kitchen.
AOC was by no means the only Democrat who accidentally outed themselves as a gas oven hypocrite. The Bidens also have a gas stove, as does Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, the Obamas, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) and plenty more.

On Thanksgiving, Kamala Harris also outed herself as a gas oven owner when she posted a picture of her and husband cooking their Thanksgiving dinner in their kitchen in front of a gas stove.

Of course, this isn’t surprising at all, because Democrat have a sordid history of not living by the standards they impose on the public. The worst example was all of the Democrats who imposed various COVID restrictions on the public that they routinely violated themselves. Pro-masking Democrats were often caught not wearing masks in public. Stacey Abrams infamously had a photo-op with schoolchildren where she was the only one maskless. Even Joe Biden was a mask hypocrite. On the day he took office, he signed a mask mandate for federal buildings and spaces, which he and his family violated within hours. While vacationing in Nantucket later that year, Biden violated the island’s indoor mask mandate. Countless Democrats have been caught violating their own mask mandates and other COVID regulations.
This is what Democrats do: they use their power to dictate what the public can and cannot do while doing whatever they want whenever they want. Classic “do as I say, not as I do.”
