Another day, another “funny” and morbidly gruesome liberal wet dream about a prominent Republican meeting his end. Perhaps this is the kind of thing Kellyanne Conway meant when she described the death threats against her. Or maybe that was nothing compared to this — you decide.
Filmmaker Joss Whedon, best known as a writer for The Avengers (2012) and Toy Story (1995) and as creator of the TV shows Firefly (2002-2003), Dollhouse (2009-2010), and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013-2017), went after House Speaker Paul Ryan in a profane (and profoundly disturbing) tweet.
“Violence solves nothing. I want a rhino to f**k @SpeakerRyan to death with its horn because it’s FUNNY, not because he’s a #GOPmurderbro,” Whedon posted on Twitter last Friday. His tweet has received 708 “retweets” and 2.9K “likes.”

While Whedon has tweeted his support for the Women’s March on Washington, his faith in Hillary Clinton’s ability to deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and fearmongering about Trump’s mention of “Nazi Germany” in the story of the Russia dossier, this seems like a new low. Sure, he accused former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney not only of hating poor people, but of planning a zombie apocalypse in 2012. Oh, and he directed that “sh*t ton of famous people” video in 2016. You know, the one that made Hillary win… or not.
But this tweet pretty much takes the cake. You have to give Whedon credit for imagination — no matter how brutal and disconcerting.

Speaker Ryan did not stoop to answering this awful declaration. Other conservatives spoke up for him, however.
Calvin Freiburger, a writer for LiveAction News and The Federalist, responded, “Murder bros are the worst, amirite?” After mockingly agreeing with Whedon, he pivoted: “Oh wait, @SpeakerRyan’s not the one who supports abortion, Joss — you are.” Bam!
Murder bros are the worst, amirite? Oh wait, @SpeakerRyan's not the one who supports abortion, Joss — you are.

One person said Whedon needed therapy — or “a few solid punches in the nose.”

This response was particularly solid.
good job on making your side seem even more unhinged & detached from reality. pic.twitter.com/S01WWYMe9f

Some said Whedon was acting like a child.
this is beyond disappointing. You're behaving like a child. How is this at all appropriate to say?

And is it possible that messages like this are driving people away from the Democrat Party?
.@joss People like you are why I stopped being a Democrat. Get the help you need before someone gets it for you. @SpeakerRyan

I can’t imagine why…
Oh, and here’s a bonus — the Mitt Zombie Apocalypse video.
