You know that feeling when your eyes burn because you’ve just seen something that now can’t be unseen? Yeah, that’s how I felt when I read this article about men’s lingerie. File this under the same category as man buns—in the “just no” category.
It’s a brand called Menagerié, offering up feminine intimates for men. They make lacy, low-rise briefs ranging from $59-69 (which have sold out), black lace “biker shorts” retailing at $89 (nearly sold out), silky boxers, and even waist trainers. Say what?
So what kind of dude would wear these? Founder Roman Sipe realizes that this possible trend may not be for everyone. He told Refinery 21, “Most straight guys don’t think they need it, or couldn’t see themselves actually buying a pair of lace underwear.” And he said some men ask practical questions like, “well, are they comfortable?”
[What they should be asking is, “Will this take away every ounce of manhood that I once had?” That answer is “affirmative.”]
The reasoning behind the controversial creations? Sipe explains, “We want to bring more adornment and beauty to men’s fashion, but still remind people that it is a brand for men.”
Sorry, but I really don’t want to see my man in a lace cami and panties…like…EVER. I realize that people are crawling out of the woodwork to jump on the “gender neutral” bandwagon, but this is a bit…for lack of better words…gross. But if the feel of lace on your man’s unmentionables gets you hot, then who am I to judge?
Men, sound off! Would you wear men’s lingerie? Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.
