TV personality, model, and actress Audrina Patridge, of The Hills fame, has a hit song from Train to thank for her recent birth story. The 31-year-old needed a C-section to deliver her daughter Kirra Max, who was in a breech presentation (which means that she was flipped in utero and her feet were down, instead of her head). The experience was pretty frightening for the mom to be. In order to shift her focus away from what was happening during the surgery, Patridge asked the OR staff to crank up the music. What was playing? None other than Train’s “Hey Soul Sister.” The song, which distracted Patridge, welcomed her baby girl into the world.
The new mom, who has a lifestyle blog, had this to say to People magazine:
“I was scared to have a c-section. She was breech. I tried everything to get her to flip. I went to acupuncture, I floated in the pool, I did front flips, I did handstands, I did everything you could imagine and nothing worked. I waited until the very end of my pregnancy” Patridge, 31, admits of the process. “[My fiancé] Corey [Bohan] kept talking to me. And it wasn’t bad at all!”
And once the former reality star locked eyes on her baby girl, “It was instant,” she says. “It was so natural.”
Congratulations to this new mama and her little girl. And thanks to Train for making the birth a relaxing and memorable experience! Check out pics of the beautiful baby below.
