Charming as always, Prince William has given us yet another reason to swoon and envy his dear wife, Kate Middleton. Recently the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined Prince Harry for the launch of the royal family’s new charity, Heads Together, which focuses on mental health.
After all three explained why they felt an urge to offer help to those suffering from mental health disorders, they were asked to write down what made them happy. While Harry, 31, said “making people smile” and Kate, 34, shared that “a walk” put her in a good mood, proud parent William simply wrote “my children.”
Wills has been known to be hands-on with his kids, Prince George (age 2) and Princess Charlotte (who recently turned one). He mentioned that when George was small and would cry, he found that the sound of running water soothed his son. That’s royal advice that any parent can certainly try.
Last year, the prince was interviewed for a documentary, “When Ant and Dec Met The Prince: 40 Years of the Prince’s Trust,” and he had this to say about his relatively new role as daddy:
“I’m a lot more emotional than I used to be, weirdly,” he notes in the film. “I never used to get too wound up or worried about things. But now the smallest little things, you well up a little more, you get affected by the sort of things that happen around the world or whatever a lot more, I think, as a father.”…”[It’s] just because you realize how precious life is, and it puts it all in perspective,” he explains in the documentary. “The idea of not being around to see your children grow up and stuff like that.”
Prince William, who grew up in the public eye (and whose 33 years have been broadcast through the very worst that life can offer and the very best), has taken to fatherhood like a pro. Here’s wishing the very best to his family.
