I make fun of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a lot, because this is the United States of America and we have the right to mock and criticize our public officials. But whether I like her or not, AOC is a duly elected member of Congress. Even if I disagree with her ideas and her methods, I don’t want her to be placed in any physical danger. If you’re a real American, neither do you.
That’s why I’m outraged by this latest news.
A secret Facebook group allegedly run by Border agents is under fire for depicting @AOC in vulgar images and mocking migrants.
Ocasio-Cortez, who’s one of several Dems touring detention centers today, said the officers were “sexually threatening towards me” after her visit pic.twitter.com/QC69xXdBNO

“I was not safe from the officers in that facility.”
AOC’s chief of staff expanded on the charge:
Imagine all your hateful trolls online, but with guns. Imagine walking into a fenced area full of them. No exit. You don’t get to take any cameras or phones with you. And those trolls with guns? They’re the ones in charge of protecting you.
That’s what @AOC faced today. https://t.co/50xO7hALbk

This is a very serious accusation. Border Patrol agents threatening a sitting member of Congress? This cannot stand. There must be an investigation. We must know who did this.
All Americans must stand up and demand the names of these agents, and we must know specifically what they did to threaten AOC. If our immigration system is so out of control that they think they can threaten a congresswoman, there must be accountability. These individuals must be held responsible for their shocking misbehavior. They cannot be allowed to hide behind their badges.
Is anybody following up on this bombshell allegation? Is anybody investigating this threat against a sitting member of Congress?
If not, why not?
And if it didn’t happen, why did AOC say it did?
“There’s a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right,” @AOC says in response to criticism that she’s made factual errors. https://t.co/sKf3sHl9F6 pic.twitter.com/xKc2eB7GEk
