The impeachment hearing of Alejandro Mayorkas, Biden's secretary of Homeland Security, will be on the agenda when Congress is back in session.
With the border crisis as bad as it is, hopefully Mayorkas' removal will slap some sense into the people controlling the Biden administration.
Or maybe not.
Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) was on Fox News' "Faulkner Focus" talking about the upcoming impeachment. She said every Republican and even a few Democrats are on board with getting rid of Mayorkas, but then she described how Mayorkas responded when told of his impeachment.
"When behind closed doors, we told him, 'You are getting ready to be impeached.' He said, 'You're not going to like who comes next.' I asked him if that was a threat, and he smiled."
Well, that's terrifying.
Rep. Cammack further described the moment she knew everything going on at the border was on purpose, calling Mayorkas "dangerous" and saying that he must be impeached immediately.
While there is a chance Cammack's story may not be accurate, what incentive does she have for lying?
It's pretty clear that what is going on at the border cannot be allowed to continue. Not even the mainstream media can hide how bad it is, no matter how much they try to cover it up.
Would Mayorkas' replacement be even worse on border security?
We could let our imaginations run wild over this all day, but whatever Mayorkas meant by his response, it does suggest that whoever really runs the Biden administration isn't afraid of anything Republicans do in the House, even if they have some successes here and there.
Mayorkas may be impeached, Hunter Biden is being held in contempt of Congress, and the impeachment inquiry is already producing enough evidence to paint a picture of the Biden family's long-running graft operation.

But this is also why there seems to be a panic about Joe Biden losing the upcoming election to Trump, and why we keep speculating that he will drop out and be replaced by some other Democrat without a primary.
CNN's first "Road to 270" map showed Trump already winning over Biden by nearly 50 Electoral College votes even before toss-up states are included, and Democrats are trying to excuse Biden from debating Trump once the general election commences because Trump is Le Bad Orange Man and does not deserve the dignity of being debated.
Similarly, the Biden administration is reportedly telling news outlets to cover him more favorably (if that was somehow possible) and "correcting" them on anything critical of him.
When you take this into account, Mayorkas' response to being impeached may be any empty threat designed to project confidence and strength and could backfire in the long run much like the lawfare against Trump and the hysterics Democrats are performing about January 6th.
Or maybe there really is something sinister brewing behind Mayorkas' words we do not know yet.
Regardless, this is going to be an insane election year, and one that will definitely be one for the history books.
