The New York Times is reporting that Sun Microsystems co-founder and tech wiz Andy Bechtolsheim will be leaving the company to run networking start-up Arista Networks. Bechtolsheim had left the company before but returned four years ago to retool Sun’s offerings. His new work will will lock him in a David and Goliath battle with Cisco’s hardened veteran John Chambers for customers such as Google needing high speed switching and servers. It sounds like a daunting challenge and just the kind of task that Andy will rise to.
