Intel Looking Closely At AMD Chip Fab Deal

Following the announcement yesterday by AMD that the company will spin off its manufacturing plants, chip maker Intel says that it has “serious questions” about the deal and stands ready to protect its own patents. Intel and AMD have a patent cross-licensing deal under which AMD pays a licensing fee.  Intel has said it will examine the deal closely to protect its intellectual property.
