The SEC Discovers the Internet

On Wednesday the Security and Exchange Commission declared that website were a viable way for a public company to communicate with shareholders.   Two points of note:

  • a company web site is a recognized channel of distribution
     
  • posting of information on a company web site disseminates the information in a manner making it available to the securities marketplace in general
