US Sucked Into Polar Vortex! Film at 11°

It’s definitely sucking, to borrow a line from the old VW ad. As James Delingpole writes at Ricochet, “Global Warming Jumps the Blue Whale” to kick of 2014:

Well clearly, “jumps the shark” just won’t do it any more. We need a bigger fish (oh, all right – mammal, if you must) if we are to capture the enormity of the desperation of the environmental alarmists in these dog days of the great, dying man-made global warming scare.

Consider their latest fiascos:

  1. The Ship of Fools expedition to the Antarctic. They headed south in search of evidence of man-made global warming – only to find themselves trapped in thick layers of frozen irony. Read the full story here. And if that isn’t enough snark, try this.
  2. Global warming devastates America. No really. That snow you can see outside your window? It’s more evidence that man is dangerously warming the planet.

Or so says Time magazine. As, inevitably, does the Guardian.

Speaking of which, John Nolte notes at Big Journalism that, “Time Mag Contradicts Self Blaming Global Warming for Cold Snap:”

Bryan Walsh, a senior editor at Time Magazine, engaged in a series of half-truths and anti-science speculation Monday to blame the cold temperatures hitting much of the country this week on man-made Global Warming. Apparently, temperatures reverting back to pre-Climate Change hysteria norms is proof of Climate Change, or something.

The only problem with Walsh’s attempt to further his hoax is that science disagrees with his phony claim that this cold snap has anything to do with Climate Change, Global Warming, or whatever these Truthers are calling it this week.

If you want a real laugh, the infamous Polar Vortex Walsh is blaming on Global Warming today is the same infamous Polar Vortex Time Magazine blamed on Global Cooling in 1974.

Of course, this isn’t the first time in recent years that CNN’s print division has got caught attempted to blame intense cold weather on supposedly intense global warming; recall the headline below that we screencapped in February of 2010. As Doug Ross wrote at the time, “Time Magazine: Uproarious Laughter Forces Rapid Headline Change as Imminent Ice Age Threatens Global Warming Agitprop.”

At the American Thinker, Andrew Thomas writes that “The Global Warming Tipping Point is Near:”

In 2004, NASA’s chief scientist James Hansen authoritatively announced that there is only a ten-year window to act on AGW (presumably by transferring mass quantities of taxpayer funds to global warmist causes) before climate Armageddon destroys humanity.  Well, that window has now shut tight, and AGW is AWOL.

Al Gore, the high priest of AGW theory, has closed all of his Alliance for Climate Protection field offices, and laid off 90% of his staff.  Contributions have all but dried up since 2008.

Australia’s conservative government has severely curtailed the country’s climate change initiatives and is in the process of repealing its business-killing carbon tax.  A group of German scientists predicts dramatic global cooling over the next 90 years toward a new “little ice age.”

Of course, even many “low information” folks have an awareness of the record increase in Arctic sea ice, as well as the current highly-publicized predicament of the cadre of wealthy global warmists stuck in record-high sea ice while on a cruise to the Antarctic to prove the absence of sea ice.

“The tipping point is near.  I can smell it,” Thomas concludes. And it smells like…Sharknado! Or at least a brilliant Sharknado Photoshop, from the folks at Anthropocon. Do yourself a favor and click over to check it out.
