MSNBC Keeps Flucking that Chicken

“MSNBC Likens Romney To The KKK For Saying ‘Keep America America,'” Real Clear Politics notes:

MSNBC daytime anchor Thomas Roberts seizes on Mitt Romney’s use of the phrase “Keep America America.” The network claims the phrase plays homage to the Ku Klux Klan slogan of “Keep America American.” According to left-leaning news outlets, the “Keep America American” expression was apparently used by the KKK in the early 1900s.

Somehow the folks at MSNBC believe Mitt Romney is acknowledging his Klan roots by using a similar slogan in his 2012 campaign for the presidency.

Romney has been getting plenty of grief this week, as video clips surface from past campaigns where he described himself as “a progressive.”

But I sincerely doubt he’s a progressiveprogressive, as Whoopi would say.

Related: Chuck Todd flips MSNBC viewers the Bird; at the Tatler, Bryan Preston reminds viewers that MSNBC has always been pretty cool with the Byrd as well:  “MSNBC sat back for years in silence when the Democrats elevated an actual Klansman as the ‘dean of the Senate.’ But they will hit Romney over a silly coincidence.”

And from the archives of the History Channel, a quick retrospective. The KKK “was really the terrorist wing of the Democratic Party at that time:”

Update: “You know it was bad when they force Matthews to apologize for something he had nothing to do with.” Who else could MSNBC use? Chris Matthews is who passes for an “elder statesman” on the network. With the possible exception of Al Sharpton, of course.
