Clintonian Karma Comes Full Circle

This happened long ago, in an a pre-Blogosphere-era far, far away, but some of our older readers may remember that Bill Clinton was once caught in the middle of an intense high-profile sexual scandal, and fought remarkably hard to stay in office rather than resign.  According to NBC, the 42nd president is not at all happy that a high-profile national Democrat caught in an intense sex-related scandal is fighting remarkably hard to stay staying office rather than resign:

While embattled Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner seems intent about staying in his job — and he’s been bolstered by a poll showing that a majority of his constituents say he shouldn’t resign — we can report that Democratic leaders, including former President Bill Clinton, are frustrated and some even furious at him. The reason: He isn’t doing his party any favors by staying in his job. The VERY few folks advising him to stay are the only folks he is listening to. Monday will be intense for him ,because the House is back and the Democratic caucus may speak as a group. By the way, even Mark Foley is saying he should resign.

As Rand Simberg asked yesterday, “Can someone explain to me what Anthony Weiner did that was so much worse than what Bill Clinton did that he is being asked by his fellow Democrats to resign?”

You go first, Bill.
