“Democrats in 2009: Never let a crisis go to waste. Democrats in 2011: Those damn Republicans are exploiting this crisis,” a headline on the I Hate the Media blog notes, along with a telling quote from Joe Biden:

Biden said the Republicans are trying to use the bad economy that their policies created to push a conservative social agenda.

“We are going to see the economic conditions they created used as an excuse to fundamentally go after the social agenda that the far right has been trying to accomplish for a long time,” Biden said.

Or to put it another way, “Yet another reminder that if it weren’t for double standards, Democrats would have no standards at all.” Actually, the above example is yet another reminder; on top of the one Stacy McCain noted yesterday: “Obama: ‘Take Back America’ Is Racist for Tea Party, But Not for Progressives.”
