Presumably they must hold the same opinions about both men today; even as President Obama is commander in chief of US forces both in Afghanistan, and still in Iraq and helping to shepherd that nation’s nascent post-Saddam democracy. Otherwise, they would have to be accused of being opportunists and political poseurs of the worst order.
