CNN, Cought in the Crosshairs

CNN, once home to a spirited debate show called Crossfire, apologized for using the word “crosshairs” yesterday. George Orwell, who understood better than anyone the power of language to shape politics and ideology, wouldn’t have been a bit surprised, as Richard Fernandez writes, in an exceptional post at the Belmont Club.

But then, CNN is a network that really knows how to work the levers of the Memory Hole. Internationally, is there a latter-day example of Big Brother that CNN hasn’t propped up?
