The GOP’s latest ad builds on its 2018 midterm election theme by highlighting the increasingly unhinged and dangerous behavior of the anti-Trump “Resistance.”
The title of the ad borrows from a quote in Bob Woodward’s scathing new book, “Fear,” about the Trump White House.
According to Woodward’s anonymous source, current Chief of Staff John Kelly said of President Trump: “He’s gone off the rails. We’re in Crazytown. I don’t even know why any of us are here. This is the worst job I’ve ever had.” Kelly of course denies that he ever said such a thing.
In the “Crazytown” ad, the RNC shows how top Democrats like Senator Cory Booker, Rep. Maxine Waters, DNC Chair Tom Perez, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi actually encourage their “Resistance” shock troops to harass Trump officials and protest his administration. The clips feature the appalling behavior of the activists disrupting the Kavanaugh Senate hearings this week.
“I just don’t even know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country,” Pelosi said during a press conference earlier this year, clearly hoping to see uprisings all over the country.
“Please, get up into the face of some congresspeople,” Booker directed an audience.
“If you see anyone from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd!” Waters famously bellowed to a crowd of her supporters last June.
“Those Republican leaders and President Trump don’t give a sh*t about you!” yawped Perez in front of a DNC audience.
The ad doesn’t have to rely on anonymous sources to make the Democrats look bad. They do a pretty good job of doing that themselves.
In June, the RNC released an ad titled “Unhinged,” which showcases the left’s egregious antics.
