An unhinged bully doused Fox News host Katherine Timpf with water Monday night as she was preparing to speak at a campaign event for Ben Kissel, a libertarian podcaster, political commentator, and comedian who is running for Brooklyn Borough president. Some clown poured an entire bottle of water on her, and when she turned her head, he splashed water in her face. Then the coward turned tail and ran out of the place.
Miss Timpf, who is extremely petite, was so flustered by the assault that she was unable to speak at the event.
“This was a pre-planned thing,” Timpf told the New York Post. “Just to see someone look you in the eye with that kind of anger and hatred and whip water in your face … is a terrifying thought.”
Timpf said the man was silent as he tapped her on the shoulder, dumped water on her head and then splashed it into her eyes. She said the unprovoked incident forced her to cancel her speech at Kissel’s event about criminal justice reform and budget cuts.
“The way things have gotten, it’s just so sick,” she said. “I don’t even have a right to exist in public is how it feels.”
There has been no arrest in the case yet, but Timpf has filed a harassment complaint, police confirmed.
They described the creep, who said nothing when he attacked, as a 6’2 black male, about 170 lbs. with dreadlocks.
Timpf expressed her feelings about the assault on Twitter:
Please read this thread. Disgusted by the actions of an obvious lunatic at my campaign event. We can do better than this. https://t.co/QwTPnoobkJ

I'm at Union Pool in BK, about to speak at my friend @BenKissel's campaign event, a guy walks in, dumps an entire bottle of water on me …

accomplish? I guess I wasn't able to speak so that's great and I guess he wins, but we're just randomly assaulting people in public now?

The tweetstorm continued:
That’s what we’re doing? Verbal assault on Twitter not enough anymore? I’ve had it. I’m an actual, human person. I have a soul, a family …
… I have feelings. I have opinions, some of which some people may disagree with, but I’m a human being. I’m capable of recognizing …
… that people with whom I disagree have souls and families and are humans, why are there so many people who seem incapable of viewing…
… the world that way? Seriously? I work really hard, I feel as though I never stop working, and to have the end result be to not even …
… be able to exist in the world as a human being without being assaulted verbally and now physically by strangers? Complete strangers?
… and of course, I still don’t know exactly what this lunatic’s issue with me was. If he was trying to change my mind about something …
… by dumping his water on my head, the very least he could have done was express what it was specifically that he had an issue with …
… either before or after assaulting me. I’m getting hate from people on all sides of the aisle bc have views that don’t fit in with any…
… particular party, so I have no way of knowing who or what the hell this guy aligned with and then I realized that it’s likely not …
… even about that. It’s not about specific issues anymore it’s about either blindly supporting or blindly hating particular people …
… and for whatever reason, this guy has decided that I am someone who he hates. Not for views, but as a human. Or not a human, because…
… clearly he doesn’t see me as one, but as some sort of an abstract entity that stands for something he hates. It’s disgusting, I’m …
… disgusted, and everyone needs to do better than this infantile bullshit because I for one have had it with senseless hostility …
… it’s not activism, it’s not in support of anything, it’s nothing but sickness and cruelty. I’ve had it with people behaving like …
… animals. Get it together and grow up.
Kissel released the following statement on Facebook regarding the incident.
While the political ideology of the assailant is not yet known, chances are good that he was an angry lefty who was triggered by Kat’s right-of-center positions on Fox News and National Review.
Left on right assaults have skyrocketed nationwide since the election of Donald Trump.
In a separate incident earlier this month, a Brooklyn man was repeatedly punched in the face and hit over the head with a broken glass bottle for wearing a Make America Great Again hat at a bar on the Lower East Side.
The right-wing activist had his nose broken and his face sliced open in the assault, but thankfully, a Trump-supporting plastic surgeon offered to fix the man’s face for free.
