President Trump welcomed the model rocket team from the Victory Christian Center School to the White House Friday, congratulating them for advancing to the finals in a national rocket contest. The president was very pleased to hear that the team had named their rocket after him because, as one of the students told him, it “conquers all.”
“These students competed against 810 teams in preliminary stages to advance to the National Team America Rocketry Challenge, the world’s largest student model rocket contest,” Trump said. The team will go on to compete against 100 other teams in Northern Virginia on Saturday.
“Guess what the name of the rocket is? It’s called Trump,” the president informed the press photographers who had poured into the Oval Office for the photo op.
“It’d better work well,” the president joked, as the students giggled. “I want to wish you a lot of luck.”
“That looks like a mean machine you did there,” Trump added.
“How did you come up with the name Trump? Does anybody have an idea?” he asked the students.
“Simply because it conquers all,” one student said.
“Ohhhh!” Trump exclaimed. “They’re never going to put that on television!” he added, pointing to the media.
