They’re calling him “the Black Friday Beaver.”
Amused shoppers snapped photos of the curious varmint as he perused through aisles at a dollar store in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, on Black Friday. The beaver looked to all the world like he was actually doing his Christmas shopping — and trying to save a buck, too — by shopping at the dollar store.
Someone called St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office when the critter started getting a little rowdy around the rolls of gift wrap and tree lights.
Animal control removed the angry beaver from the store and released it to a wildlife rehabilitation center, according to the sheriff’s office. No injuries were reported but there were a few crumpled packages.
“Did he leave some things behind?” WUSA anchor Lesli Foster wondered. That question was thankfully left unanswered.
