Several people were injured in Ferguson, Missouri, Sunday night during a violent confrontation with the police. People threw rocks and bottles at the cops, and the scene eventually erupted in gunfire. One suspect who fired shots at the police was critically wounded when they returned fire.

Several objects were thrown at police and some businesses damaged, the St. Louis County Police Department said. A journalist was attacked and robbed in a parking lot. Three St. Louis County police officers were injured: One was struck in the face by a brick, while two others were pepper-sprayed.
St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said that those resorting to violence were not protesters. They never are.
KMBC reported:
St Louis County Police said several gunshots fired by at least two unknown persons were reported. One of the suspects reportedly ran across a parking lot where he was spotted by St. Louis County Police Detectives in an unmarked vehicle. The detectives activated their emergency lights and began driving toward the suspect.
Police said the suspect opened fire on that vehicle, striking it multiple times.
A release from the St. Louis County Police Department said that detectives exited the vehicle and started to run after the suspect. The suspect reportedly turned, and reengaged the detectives, who returned fire. That suspect was wounded several times.
The suspect was transported to an area hospital in critical condition where he underwent surgery.
A 9-millimeter Sig Sauer recovered from the scene was reported stolen out of Cape Girardeau, MO, last year.

As night came, a large crowd gathered on West Florissant Avenue, and as rain fell, a group of people broke into a beauty supply store and stole a cash register.
With police officers in pursuit, the men dropped the machine and ran away.
By all MSM accounts, the violence occurred after a day of “peaceful vigils” commemorating the one-year anniversary of Michael Brown’s death.
But no one in the media is asking why the Black Lives Matter movement is commemorating the death of Michael Brown. Why are we still pretending — long after all the facts have come out — that Michael Brown was a victim of police brutality and some kind of civil rights martyr?
There’s no polite way to say this, so I’ll be blunt. Michael Brown was a petty criminal who was shot by a police officer while he was in the process of attacking the police officer. Bad things happen to people who attack police officers.
There’s nothing to lionize here, unless you want to lionize a young criminal whose life was cut short because of his own bad choices. It’s sad, but the example of his short, tragic life should be held up as a cautionary tale for other black youths to study, so they can avoid making the same mistakes.
There’s nothing to commemorate here — unless you want to commemorate the lawlessness and disorder that took place after Brown’s death. Most people would rather forget it — not see it commemorated and duplicated.
Of course the “peaceful vigil” turned ugly.
The entire Black Lives Matter cause is ugly. Their narrative that blacks are perpetual victims of racist white oppression is ugly, toxic and delusional at its core. Blacks can never be held responsible for their own actions under this worldview. Their own bad behavior can and will always be blamed on someone else.
Amy Hunter, the director of racial justice for the YWCA, stood to the side and shook her head. She said she believed that the police had provoked the protesters.
“We learned the last time we did it this way, there was more violence,” she said.
If only the police had given them more “room to destroy,” in other words. Because we all remember how well that worked out in Baltimore.
