'Muslims Love the Messenger Muhammad More Than Their Parents, Children and Even Themselves!'

I really wish that the postmodernist progressive party line about Islam, summarized below by Media Matters researcher and twitter activist Oliver Willis, was true:

Muslims murdering those who insult their prophet aren’t practicing a “twisted offshoot of Islam.” They’re practicing the original, authentic, traditional, orthodox, medieval, pre-Enlightenment, pre-classical liberalism version of Islam. This interpretation of the Koran and the Hadiths has centuries of Islamic jurisprudence and multiple states around the world defending it.

Is Saudi Arabia, where apostates are executed, practicing a “twisted offshoot” of Islam? All the Paris shooters are doing is trying to implement in Paris what’s been the law in Arab nations for centuries. Why do we look the other way when Islamic states murder people for their religion and speech but get outraged when it happens in the West?

The Muslims throughout history that could accurately be characterized as a “twisted offshoot” are the peaceful, mystic ones who have to bend over backwards to explain why the Prophet’s warmongering ways are no longer applicable today when the Koran makes so abundantly clear that they are.

Here’s how the notorious British imam Anjem Choudary responded to the Jihad attack in Paris today:

Question: Why do Muslims get so bent out of shape with challenges to their prophet (apart from the obvious answer of the Koran commanding death for those who do)? An answer: the historicity of Mohammed will not stand up to scholarly scrutiny. Islam has to threaten everyone with death who would reveal that the Koran is a Pagan imitation of monotheism that plagiarizes and reinvents Christian and Jewish ideas. There is not an answer to Choudary’s final question. Once the door is opened for criminalizing speech that hurts people’s feelings it cannot be closed.

Is this blog post “hate speech”? Yes, it is. We need to start defending both the right and the necessity to hate evil. I hate the myth of Mohammed and all the pain it has brought for Muslims, Jews, Christians, atheists, and Pagans throughout history. We have to stand up and say that if we truly love Muslim people — as the God of the Bible calls us to do — then we need to hate the ideas that are oppressing them. Love people and love God, do not love ideas and images.
