On Thursday, Britain’s Daily Mail reported that James Bond star Daniel Craig turned down a whopping £68 million ($99 million U.S.) when he decided not to play the MI-6 agent in two more films.
Craig transformed the Bond franchise, bringing more brawn to the suave secret agent. His action scenes proved stellar, and the intrigue of Casino Royale (2006) and Skyfall (2012) was masterful. Craig’s Bond franchise had its weak moments — ahem Quantum of Solace (2008) and Spectre (2015) — but he had a great, if unfortunately rather short, run.
