Just three months into their marriage, a Florida couple got the surprise of their lives after discovering that the bride was the groom’s biological granddaughter.
According to the Florida Sun Post, the couple – who have requested to remain anonymous – came to the startling discovery while looking through the 68-year-old’s photo albums, which included pictures of his first wife and their children. His 24-year-old wife instantly recognized one of the children as her estranged father, who she says kicked her out of the house when she was a teenager after she’d accidentally gotten pregnant.
I want to party with this group.
Seriously though, what family doesn’t have an accidental-pregnancy-oops-I-married-grandpa story floating around? None of you? OK, then.
The “Florida Man” stuff is all the rage now but I wonder how long this strangeness has been going on down there. For the first part of my career I would spend anywhere from two to four months a year doing gigs in Florida, mostly because there were a lot of them and I like sunshine. I was all over the state too. While I always found it to be an interesting place I never noticed the weapons-grade weirdness that gets publicity now.
Maybe that says something about me.
I will ponder that while I’m double-checking to make sure that my fiancée aren’t related.
