It can be pretty exciting to watch Ryan Reynolds in his movie roles, especially in Deadpool. (He just shot Deadpool 2, which will be released in early June!) But did you know that the hunky Hollywood star is a real-life hero as well? He and wife, Blake Lively, recently took a CPR course, focusing on toddler and infant CPR. They are parents to two young daughters and wanted to make sure that they knew what to do in case of an emergency.

Two days ago, the 40-year-old and his wife Blake Lively completed a CPR course—and on Monday, the A-listers urged others to follow their lead. “Years ago, I took a CPR course thru the Red Cross. And holy s–t, I ended up saving my nephew’s life because I knew what to do!” wrote Reynolds, who has two young daughters. “True story! Yesterday I took a refresher course—focusing on infant and toddler CPR. It takes only a few hours and it’s also kinda, sorta fun.”

Blake Lively also took to her Instagram to encourage other parents to sign up for what could be life-saving lessons. Her post read:

ALL MAMAS AND DADDIES OUT THERE– I can’t recommend this enough, I took a CPR class with with a focus on babies and toddlers. Google “infant CPR class near me” and you’ll see lots of listings. For those of you who haven’t done it, you will love it. It’s so helpful by giving you knowledge, tools, and some peace of mind.

Reynolds didn’t elaborate on how he came to save his nephew’s life, but the fact that his first-aid course helped him is more than enough. We should all take the couple’s advice and take a class!
