GOP mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt has been running a phenomenal campaign for Los Angeles mayor, and his latest move includes both exposing illegal electioneering from his Democrat opponent's team and cleverly throwing back on her the charge of racism.
Fox L.A. TV reporter Matthew Seedorff obtained a letter that Pratt's attorney, Peter McNulty, wrote to Patrice Lattimore at the City Clerk's Office calling attention to a violation of Article B, Section 815, which forbids electioneering within 100 feet of a polling place's entrance, including advocating for a specific candidate such as putting up signs or displaying merchandise for the candidate. Bass has posted on social media showing she held campaign signs and engaged in other electioneering actions apparently within the prohibited area of a polling place and drop box.
NEW: Los Angeles mayoral candidate @spencerpratt accuses Mayor @KarenBassLA of violating election laws, claiming her campaign engaged in illegal electioneering near a ballot drop box.

Pratt says his team filed a formal complaint with city and state officials. pic.twitter.com/s8R7ZLtj5c
McNulty pointed out, "Indeed, it isn't just a matter of Karen Bass being too close, but rather that she shows herself and others directly submitting her ballots into drop boxes all while electioneering, soliciting votes and promoting such activity all over social media." This displays a "reckless disregard for the rule of law," McNulty accused Mayor Bass.
Karen Bass just violated election law here. She is so accustomed to breaking the law with no accountability, she even filmed herself doing it. Well, those days are over. We just filed a formal complaint for illegally gaming the election. We must protect our democracy.… https://t.co/NcgFElQSQA pic.twitter.com/Oz33YQ9Y7b

Bass responded by telling Seedorff that Pratt "is just mad that his supporters are AI cartoons and we have real Angelenos. We follow the rules." Bass asserted that the signs were 200 feet away from the drop box. Her statement was a hit at Pratt's wildly successful AI-generated campaign ads ,which expose how horrible it is to live in L.A. under Bass's disastrous regime.
Pratt quickly responded and also took charge of the narrative, cleverly insinuating that Bass's statement was racist, since his latest two ads are not AI — they show real voters in L.A.'s Koreatown. One of the ads features a store owner recalling how Bass celebrated the burning of numerous Korean-owned liquor stores during the 1992 L.A. riots, claiming the destruction of the stores was a "miracle." As mayor, Bass has roused ire in Koreatown for her fueling of the homeless problem.
An important message from my friends in Koreatown who will never forget what Karen Bass did to their community: an endorsement of Karen Bass is an endorsement of racism. pic.twitter.com/LcAOJSsgml

Karen Bass cheered on the destruction of Koreatown in the riots, and now she's calling my Korean supporters "AI cartoons". We must stop this Asian hate coming from Mayor Bass. We cannot have a racist like her in charge of such a diverse city. https://t.co/mwvWWDJKL6 pic.twitter.com/GHB9ON7drW

No matter what happens on L.A.'s Election Day, Pratt is running a campaign from which other Republicans can learn.
