In less than a year, the Trump administration cut border crossings by over 90% and ensured that 2.5 million illegal immigrants left the United States—proving what we already knew: Joe Biden chose to create a disastrous border crisis.
In fact, Biden — or rather his handlers — flew hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into America’s interior, reduced the already paltry vetting of illegals, poured taxpayer money into illegals’ laps as if we had an endless supply, and overlooked the countless criminals and terrorists who invaded America. It was all on purpose. That’s why Donald Trump and his administration could disprove the lies and solve the problem.
The Trump administration released new statistics showing it has cut fentanyl trafficking in half and brought down border crossings 93% year-over-year. Most importantly, the Trump administration has located more than 120,000 missing children trafficked into America under Joe Biden’s nose—and in some cases with the active assistance of federal officials.
The justification for all of the failures under the Biden administration was that it was impossible for the president to solve the border crisis — that somehow circumstances beyond his control were making it inevitable that unending hordes of unvetted foreigners would enter our country and suck up our resources. That was, of course, a complete lie, and many arguments to that effect have aged poorly indeed.
Cato Institute went all out in January on the blatant lies in “Biden Didn’t Cause the Border Crisis.” It shamelessly pontificated, “From his administration’s first day in January 2021, Biden actually increased border enforcement—arrests, detentions, and removals of border crossers all increased.” It would be funny if so many Americans hadn’t been raped and killed by the worst scumbags among the 6.7 million illegals Biden let in.
Politico excitedly relayed in February 2024, “Biden challenges House GOP to solve border crisis — or ‘keep playing politics.'” The deal Biden claimed he absolutely had to have, or else he was powerless, was an awful deal that made a pretense of solving the border crisis while still solidifying approval for tens of thousands of illegals to enter the U.S. every single week.
Likewise, in February 2024, Brookings published “Fixing the border: Four reasons the immigration crisis isn’t going away.” It claimed, “Regardless of what actions take place in the short term, whether by statute or executive action, the border crisis will be with us for a long time.”
One of Brookings’ reasons was a difficulty in hiring border officers, which is interesting in light of the fact that the Trump administration says its recruitment is off the charts. Similarly, the surge in immigration under Biden was not inevitable; it was a result of illegal aliens understanding that if they arrived at the border, they would almost certainly be welcomed in — regardless of criminal history or future plans.
Remember in March 2024 when Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas asserted that “administrative action is no substitute for an enduring solution”? Translated into normal language, what he was saying was that the president simply could not solve the border crisis. He was, of course, full of garbage, as we now can see very clearly after almost a year of the Trump administration’s success.
