Is Communist China’s New Military Tool on Your Phone?

Is the newest military tool of our dire enemy, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), already on your phone? And could the CCP exploit that tool as a weapon against Americans?

Many politicians and tech experts have now exposed how TikTok, in which the CCP owns a financial stake and board seat, is weaponized to feed American youth toxic content and to steal Americans’ data. But Chinese artificial intelligence bot DeepSeek could be another tool in the CCP’s campaign to undermine the USA, and it already has an official partnership with the Chinese military.

Of course, that shouldn’t be a surprise, since the CCP practices “civil-military fusion,” which means that everything in the economic and tech spheres has to be available to the Chinese military. And since the CCP openly avows its goals to usurp America’s world leadership status and become the “Middle Kingdom” (by which it means the center of the world), we shouldn’t be surprised that any popular new app from China has a darker purpose.

In January, DeepSeek AI became the top-rated app in the Apple App Store. Americans — especially young people — are far too apt to share all kinds of personal information on social media apps without ever stopping to consider long-term consequences.

The Chinese military has already integrated DeepSeek into its support systems and is looking into using AI for military vehicles and drones. But a Chinese research team has yet another use for the AI in a military context. Global Times, a CCP propaganda outlet with a long history of threatening war and slaughter against the United States and other countries, especially Taiwan, announced on May 15:

A research team led by Professor Fu Yanfang from the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Xi’an Technological University, has recently achieved automatic generation of simulated military scenarios using the DeepSeek artificial intelligence (AI) large model, the Global Times learnt from the research team on Thursday.

While human commanders take 48 hours to plan simulated military scenarios conventionally, AI can reconstruct 10,000 possibilities in just 48 seconds… The DeepSeek large model technology has a significant advantage in its ability to deconstruct and reconstruct complex battlefield situations through training on massive amounts of data. It leverages its powerful pattern recognition capabilities to build a multidimensional battlefield knowledge graph, according to the release.

Now, this is obviously a specific use of DeepSeek within China. But the very fact that the AI is officially a tool of the Chinese military and that it is likely to be still deeper embedded in the military should give us pause. It is not unreasonable to guess that most or all data from DeepSeek will be accessible to the CCP military — indeed, as noted above, that is practically required by the government. Notably, South Korea has already accused DeepSeek of illegally sharing the data of 1.5 million Koreans with Chinese and American firms, hence, the app is banned in South Korea.

DeepSeek certainly runs cover for the CCP. In January, Glenn Beck revealed the chatbot rewriting history in real time, briefly acknowledging that CCP dictator Mao Zedong was the greatest mass murderer of all time before abruptly erasing the information and denying it had ever provided that information. DeepSeek also seemed to identify itself with the CCP, saying “we … believe” the independent nation of Taiwan should belong to the CCP, and acknowledging “we” meant the CCP.

DeepSeek has also refused to provide users with information on the CCP’s infamous Tiananmen Square massacre.

It should be obvious by now that DeepSeek is a tool of the CCP, and we ought to follow South Korea’s lead in banning the dangerous app.
