As analysts warn that California leftists’ persistence in closing down refineries could send gas prices soaring, we are seeing in real time one insidious method by which globalists can accomplish their stated goal of seriously restricting private car ownership.
Numerous globalist individuals and entities have expressed goals to restrict or abolish private transport (themselves always excepted) under the guise of stopping “climate change,” but really so that they can impoverish, oppress, and control citizens. If you are reliant on the government and public transport, you are much less independent and free as to when and where you can go, which is exactly what leftists like California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) want.
Gavin Newsom was once a World Economic Forum (WEF) Young Global Leader, and he learned well from WEF, which long ago predicted a world where the proletariat “own nothing,” especially cars. This is not mere incompetence — this is by design.

The Phillips 66 Refinery in Los Angeles could close by the end of this year, which would send prices skyrocketing above $6, according to USC Professor Michael Mische.
Mische added that if the Valero Refinery in the Bay Area closes by the end of next year, that could send gas prices soaring close to $9 a gallon.
Newsom asserted that he is trying to ensure a stable gas supply, but the reality is that he and his fellow California Democrats have been waging war on the oil and gas industry, according to the California Globe. Between overregulation, surcharges, and woke, climate alarmist “low carbon” and “clean air” programs, Democrats in Commiefornia have been killing the gas industry. For instance, in 2022, Newsom signed a legislation package supposedly to achieve “carbon neutrality” by the middle of the century.
Carbon neutrality is literally impossible, and since carbon is actually the necessary building block of life, restricting carbon is nothing short of suicidal. The globalists know that, and it’s actually part of the plan.
California Senate Minority Leader Brian W. Jones posted recently, “Let’s be clear: Newsom owns this gas crisis. His extreme policies have made it nearly impossible for California gasoline companies to operate. Now, two refineries are shutting down, cutting our gas supply by 20%. As Newsom eyes the White House, America should be watching closely: the crisis he created here could be the next national nightmare.” Newsom wants the whole country to be like Commiefornia.
But Gavin “French Laundry” Newsom doesn’t care, because he doesn’t want to save the planet — he wants to establish an oligarchical Marxist state. And part of that is making it unaffordable and impractical for most people to have their own vehicles.
Over 24 hours after learning gas prices could spike 75% to $8.43/gal, Newsom finally responds: he’s told his bureaucracy to look into it.
