The genocidal Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is boastfully publicizing the fact that Elon Musk’s Tesla, determined not to lose the benefits of cheap and slave labor in China, is fighting European tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles (EVs). And what if Musk tries to argue his buddy Donald Trump out of tariffing Chinese goods, too?
It has long been a worry amongst those who understand how deeply Musk is invested in China and tied to the CCP that he could potentially have a negative influence therefore on Trump’s decision-making. This new report only augments that reasonable worry.
CCP state propaganda outlet Global Times shared information from its fellow state media Xinhua, posting on January 27, “#Tesla and #BMW have joined Chinese electric vehicle (#EV) manufacturers in challenging the European Union's (#EU) tariffs on Chinese-made EVs, filing cases with the Court of Justice of the European Union, according to the court's website. The lawsuits follow similar filings last week by Chinese EV manufacturers BYD, Geely, and SAIC, contesting the EU's additional import tariffs of up to over 35 percent: Xinhua.”
Musk, of course, has Tesla factories in China — where he began building yet another new factory in 2023 — because he has access to a great deal of cheap or even slave labor. Tesla workers were reportedly being forced to work in extremely and scandalously inhumane conditions during China’s insane zero-COVID lockdowns in early 2022, and Musk has endorsed the CCP’s unjust claims on Taiwan, after which he was reportedly rewarded for his comments by the CCP with a tax exempt status for Tesla products. Tesla has been accused of benefiting from slave labor in China.
Also in 2022, Musk penned a laudatory piece for China Cyberspace, “a monthly magazine run by the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), the central agency for internet control and regulation,” according to a translation of the article on Beijing Channel and The Post Millennial.

The CCP is history’s greatest mass murderer, at 500 million victims and counting, and it continues to practice censorship, foreign espionage, domestic religious/political persecution, genocide, and all the most egregious crimes and human rights abuses. Yet Musk is delighted to operate Tesla in China, where every company is required by law to host CCP cells and to uphold “socialist core values,” and where Musk’s Tesla is no exception to this law. China also enforces “civil-military fusion,” where everything in the economic and tech spheres is accessible to the Chinese military.
Tesla sued the EU over electric vehicle tariffs. What about in America? Trump has repeatedly vowed to tariff products from other countries, including our number one enemy, China. He has also rolled back the aggressively pro-EV policies of the Biden administration. Will Musk try to persuade Trump not to interfere with his extreme dependence on Communist China for his Tesla manufacturing?
One thing is for certain — for all his support of Trump, for all his rhetoric about freedom and justice and America First, Elon Musk has proven himself not only willing but eager to compromise all his principles the moment it is financially beneficial to him. And that makes him a serious danger to the U.S. from within the Trump administration.
