Dem Leaders Can Spare Us the Fake Sympathy

The same Democrat leadership — including Joe Biden and Kamala Harris — who have been encouraging political violence and screeching nonstop for years that Donald Trump is worse than Adolf Hitler and Satan combined are now issuing statements expressing sympathy for Trump. They can spare us their completely hypocritical and insincere babblings.

Joe Biden called his presidential opponent a “dictator” and insisted, “We cannot let him win.” Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) was one of many who claimed Trump was the “gravest threat to democracy.” With that kind of rhetoric, with the FBI having literally targeted MAGA supporters as “domestic terrorists,” with the propaganda that the majority-peaceful Jan. 6 crowd was the worst political riot in American history, are we really surprised someone took a shot at Trump? Democrat leadership owes Trump and his supporters (especially the man killed at the rally Saturday) an abject apology. Anything less is mere sound and fury, signifying nothing.

On Saturday, in fact, the very day on which the shooting of Trump occurred, VP Kamala Harris made this disturbing assertion about the former president: “Someone who vilifies immigrants, who promotes xenophobia, who stokes hate and who incites fear should never again have the chance to stand behind a microphone. And never again have the chance to stand behind the seal of the president of the United States of America.”

Yet, as soon as the shooting hit the news, Kamala was blathering about praying for Trump. “Doug and I are relieved that he is not seriously injured. We are praying for him, his family, and all those who have been injured and impacted by this senseless shooting,” posted the woman who compared Jan. 6 to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor. How ironic that Democrats, who compared “Christian nationalists” to terrorists, are now supposedly reciting pious prayers for Trump. Sorry, Kamala — we aren’t unburdening ourselves from what has been in this case. We remember how radical your rhetoric has been against Trump and his supporters. Nor is Kamala alone in that regard. The Democrat Party has been crazed with Trump Derangement Syndrome for years.

For instance, behold this Vox headline from July 1: “Democrats say Trump is an existential threat. They’re not acting like it.” Even worse, that same day, I reported that Democrats were calling for Trump’s assassination online. Among those who did so was Harry Sisson, an exceptionally imbecilic social media influencer recruited for the Biden campaign. “According to the Supreme Court, Biden could now send in Seal Team 6 to take all of them out. He could send in the military to take out Trump. He has ‘immunity’ for official acts now!” Sisson posted.

Yet Sisson was one of the Democrats faking sympathy for Trump after the failed assassination. “In his Oval Office address on the Trump rally shooting, President Biden was absolutely right ‘There’s no place in America for this kind of violence… We can’t allow this violence to be normalized… It’s time to cool it down. And we all have a responsibility to do that.’ Spot on.” Sisson seems to have very convenient short-term amnesia.

Joe Biden had the chutzpah to call for unified peace and express sympathy for Trump as if his administration hasn’t been frantically trying to lock Trump up for life with weaponized lawfare. Spare us your crocodile tears, liars.
