Obama Official on Benghazi: 'Dude, This Was Like Two Years Ago!'

One might as well ask Barack Obama’s national security staff, “Dude, where was our embassy security?” Along with “Dude, where’s our foreign policy?”

This exchange happened on Fox last night. Bret Baier interviewed former Obama National Security Spokesman Tommy Vietor.

BRET BAIER: The 14th is the day you’re talking about. According to the e-mails and the time line, the CIA circulates new talking points after they’ve removed the mention of al Qaeda, and then at 6:21 the White House– you — add a line about the administration warning of September 10th of social media reports calling for demonstrations. True?

TOMMY VIETOR: I believe so.

BAIER: Did you also change “attacks” to “demonstrations” in the talking points?

VIETOR: Maybe. I don’t really remember.

BAIER: You don’t remember?

VIETOR: Dude, this was like two years ago. We’re still talking about the most mundane process.

BAIER: Dude, it is the thing that everybody is talking about.

VIETOR: We’re talking about the process of editing talking points. That’s what bureaucrats do all day long. Your producers edit scripts multiple times.

The mundane process of telling lies about the manner in which four Americans died. Editing those talking points in the days following those deaths was probably nothing like a producer editing a script. Unless Barack Obama has surrounded himself with cold-blooded vampires.

Vietor also dismissed the talking points that, dude, everybody’s talking about for some reason, in a tweet before he went on the air.

More: Vietor used a hashtag, #TBT, in that tweet. It stands for “Throwback Thursday.” Tweeters typically use that hashtag to post old, funny photos of themselves. Vietor used it to dismiss the deaths of four Americans.
