Monday the Pope took to Twitter and tweeted this:
Inequality is the root of social evil.
— Pope Francis (@Pontifex) April 28, 2014
First question: Exactly what is “social evil?”
Second question: Whatever happened to the “seven deadly sins?” Among them are lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride. Those who rail about “inequality” may well be doing so for noble reasons. Or they may be motivated by any combination of lust, greed, sloth, wrath and envy, along with wounded pride because their achievements haven’t brought them up to a level to compete economically with the Donald Sterlings of the world. From what I’ve seen, the “inequality” craze is less motivated by any actual injustice, and more about securing political power over others and extorting property away from its owners.
Third question: Do papal tweets now carry the full weight of papal bulls?
