#Newtone: Mitt Romney Greeted with Violent Threats in Georgia

GOP nominee Mitt Romney made a fundraising stop in Georgia today, and was greeted by that new tone we keep hearing so much about. Several Obama supporters took to twitter to threaten to kill or maim the former governor, according to Georgia Tip Sheet. One claimed to be loading up a water gun with acid.

Romney was granted Secret Service protection shortly after becoming the Republican nominee. The Secret Service was quick to investigate rocker Ted Nugent when he told a radio audience earlier this year that if Obama is re-elected, Nugent will either end up “dead or in jail.” While Nugent was criticizing Obama’s civil liberties record, many took his comment as a threat.

There is no such ambiguity in many of the tweets spotted in Georgia.
