His name is Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez and, among other things, he has been hanging out at the Occupy DC camp. CNN doesn’t mention that in this story about his arrest today in Pennsylvania.
Authorities have arrested a man who allegedly was involved in a shooting incident that may be responsible for two bullets found this week at the White House, the U.S. Secret Service said.
Police arrested Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez near Indiana, Pennsylvania, the U.S. Secret Service said. Authorities say they believe he was involved in a shooting that happened near the White House in Washington, D.C., on Friday night.
Here’s more on his connection to the Occupy DC camp.
The Secret Service searched Occupy D.C. on Monday for a man suspected of firing bullets at the White House on Friday, one of which was stopped by the building’s ballistic glass.
Protestor Ralph Wittenberg told TPM on Tuesday evening that authorities came through “searching for a so-called terrorist who shot at the White House, with no warrant, they went into everybody’s tents.”
Man illegally camping complains about a lack of warrant to search tents for “so-called terrorist” who may have fired shots at the White House with an AK-47.
AK-47? Yeah.
After a manhunt for a disturbed gunman who is suspected of shooting at the White House with an AK-47 assault rifle and smashing a window, he was captured in Pennsylvania on Wednesday.
Police said Oscar Ramiro Ortega – who is thought to have a fixation on the building – opened fire across a lawn from half a mile away then ran off.
Was this one of Eric Holder’s walking guns? An inquiring press should think to ask.
I would play “How would the mediaDemocrats handle this if the alleged shooter was connected to the Tea Party?” but we don’t have to. We know what they would do, because they did it in Arizona with the Tucson shooter. That loon hadn’t been to a Tea Party meeting in his life and had no discernible coherent ideology, but the mediaDemocrats turned him into Rick Santelli’s brother from another mother and turned Sarah Palin’s campaign map into the cause of the crime. CNN itself even had an anchor, John King, apologize on the air when a guest used the word “target.”
This detained person of interest, Ortega, is said to have been “blending in” at Occupy DC, implying that he’s not really an occupier. That may turn out to be the case, but so far we have a revolutionary movement living outside the law and threatening violence, one interviewed occupier not at all happy that police are looking for the guy, and, well, the guy himself.
With that impressive chin shrub, I’m sure Mr. Ortega had no trouble blending in.
