Addressing the controversy over the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs, entrepreneur and television personality Donald Trump told PJ Media “we have no control over our country.”

“It’s a very bad situation. It’s got to be taken care of,” Trump said during an interview after his speech at the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference in Washington.

“We have no control over our country. We don’t have the right leadership.”

The NSA’s classified security programs reportedly monitor telephone calls and online activity.

In his remarks at the “Road to the Majority Conference,” Trump predicted that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would be the Democrats’ nominee for president in 2016.

“I know the Democrats very well – they’re looking to have a president in office for many, many years. They probably will be having Hillary run, it looks to me, I mean, all things, you have years to go before that really takes place but assuming good health and assuming lots of other things, I think that she will be the candidate,” he said.

Trump also touched upon the Benghazi scandal, taking issue with the New York Times for “hardly” mentioning it anymore.

“The various scandals that we’re talking about, whether it’s AP, which frankly was interesting because a lot of the liberal folks that felt so strongly about what they do, that was the thing that most resonated to them but you notice that it’s not resonating anymore or Benghazi, which should resonate and should really resonate, and it’s not resonating very much at all,” Trump said.

He also criticized the Obama administration for not taking any action against the terrorists who carried out the attack in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012.

“We know who did, we’ve learned who did it and there’s no retribution and it’s a little bit like this country, we’re not respected anymore. We’re just not respected, think of that,” Trump said.

“They do that to these great people, they’re our people, our ambassador and others and we do nothing, not only do we do nothing, not do we not help in a timely manner, which we should have been able to do but there’s no retribution for the people that did it.”
