Long before Donald Trump called Hillary Clinton and President Obama the co-founders of the Islamic State, the Democrats’ nominee for president said that Mr. Trump was “becoming ISIS’ best recruiter.”
“They are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists,” she claimed as part of her response to a question from “ABC World News Tonight” anchor David Muir about the GOP nominee’s proposed Muslim ban.
Mrs. Clinton made her comments during the Democratic presidential debate on December 19, 2015.
Multiple fact checkers rated her statement as false, and the Clinton campaign walked back her claim. As PJ Media’s Debra Heine pointed out, there was an ISIS recruiting video featuring President Bill Clinton along with presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush in existence.
It was just short of two weeks after Hillary Clinton’s ISIS claim that Somali al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Shabaab released a recruitment video featuring Donald Trump. PJ Media’s Bridget Johnson has that story here.
