If you combine last year’s explosion of pumpkin spice-flavored everything with the supreme silliness that they embraced with the color-changing Unicorn Frappuccino that was released earlier this year, you’ll have an idea of what Starbucks is up to with their latest Facebook Live post.

Take a look at the ongoing livestream [sorry, it’s no longer available on Facebook, but see screenshots below] of a large pumpkin placed in a barn (likely a meme referencing the livestream of April the formerly pregnant Giraffe) that is furnished with hay, a cuckoo clock, and a wooden fence to keep the orange gourd from making its escape back into the wild.
While the pumpkin itself isn’t doing a whole lot, the “farmers” taking care of it are regularly placing various signs and props into the pumpkin pen, including vital “Did You Know?” pumpkin facts that you were probably taught in elementary school, such as “Pumpkins navigate by the position of the moon, which is why herds will not travel on a moonless night” and “Pumpkins are attacked by sharks 100% more than other fruits that don’t look like pumpkins.” Sounds right to me! The fun Facebook Live post counted down the time until the pumpkin-spiced drinks became available on Labor Day, giving Pumpkin Spice Latte junkies their seasonal fix. (Sadly, it wasn’t a prelude to the announcement of a new limited-edition Pumpkin Orange Unicorn Frappuccino drink… maybe next year!) But enjoy the show anyway — you might just learn something!
