Reckless:

A Chinese passenger jet with more than 200 people on board flew through the trajectory of a North Korean rocket that had been fired minutes earlier, the South Korean government said.

North Korea fired the rocket Tuesday at 4:17 p.m. without giving any navigational warning, Kim Min-Seok, a spokesman for the South Korean Defense Ministry, said Wednesday.

Seven minutes later, a China Southern Airlines plane carrying 220 passengers from Japan’s Narita airport to Shenyang in China passed through the rocket’s trajectory, he said.

“It was a very dangerous situation,” Kim said during a news briefing. “North Korea’s provocative actions violate the international navigation laws and pose a great threat to the safety of civilians.”

I know the question is as old as North Korea, but what [REDACTED] are the North Koreans up to?

It was undoubtedly rank stupidity.

Kim Jong Un is not interested in pissing off the Chinese. Period. He relies upon them for support. He thoroughly enjoys the finer things in life, and China is necessary to those plans. Especially when China is just about to get into a shooting war with Japan.

A hostile takeover of N. Korea would be in everyone else's best interest, and would make attacking the Japanese islands all the easier.

It was stupidity, nothing more.

Baby Kim is trying to tick off the Chinese? That's not the way to ensure a long life.

Kim probably realizes he has the Chinese by the balls--prop me up or I'll flood you with millions of starving helpless refugees. Not even the Chinese can absorb what a North Korean collapse would unleash on them.

As for the rocket, I'm inclined to believe it's an inevitable coincidence from repeated carelessness.

The Chinese have Kim Jong Un by the balls. If China were to take over NK, their biggest worry would be finding landfill space for all the flowers and thank you cards flooding Bejing.

And the Chinese have more bullets than NK has refugees.

Interesting argument, but I am not sure it's right.

Suppose we were dealing with the USA and a crazy Canada (no conservatives, Soviet Canukistan is not as crazy as North Korea). If Canada imploded and 32 million refugees swarmed over the border, Americans would try to feed and shelter them. Especially if the Canadians had been starving for half a century.

But we are talking about China here. If 24 million North Koreans swarmed across the border the Chinese would be very willing to give each refugee a bullet in the chest. Problem solved.

Asking for an ass kicking, as usual. With President Daffodil, it won't be coming from us. Piss off the ChiComs, though-- well, I've got my emergency popcorn ready.
