This Core Curriculum crap is no joke. Already I’m having to re-teach my second-grader the right way to do simple arithmetic, and even the right words for it. That places an unnecessary burden on him, having to learn one way for dad and another way for his teacher. But worst of all is any distrust it might sow between him and his (actually quite wonderful) second-grade teacher.
