Well, actually Howard Dean dares speak it quite a bit: We’re going to be socialist.
Oh, don’t get him wrong; we’ll still have capitalism. Just, you know, enough capitalism to finance the Democrats’ socialist schemes. The problem is, that kind of thing has a limited shelf life, as the public “option” (and we’re not just talking health insurance here) eventually crowds out private enterprise. And in the end, you’re left with neither socialism not capitalism — just bankruptcy.
Still, it’s nice of the good doctor to be so honest about his party’s intentions.

I thought the debate over socialism was over when the ‘hammer and sickle’ came down over the Kremlin back in the 90′s and you know what I thought we won that debate, But according to Howlin’ Howard, it wasn’t coming down, just moving and as it turns out, it was moving here! ( Side note: Ever notice that no matter what the subject of the debate is, how its the left is the first to tell us that “the debate is over”.)
As an astute commenter on another site noted, there’s an easy way to tell politics from science.
Quantum Physics is a theory.
Relativity is a theory.
Evolution is a theory.
But “AGW is settled science” and “the debate between capitalism and socialism is over.”
