More European missile defense news: The new Polish government is less of a sure thing.
I suspect Polish “doubts” are more likely postures to get concessions, play to public concerns, or placate the Russians. Negotiations will continue, but I don’t think there’s any doubt about the outcome.

Have you ever been to a public hearing for a proposed project?
All of the concerned citizens stand up and voice their concerns, the panel pays close attention and promises they will take it under consideration and nothing will be decided until those concerns are addressed. After the project is finished it is within ten percent of the original outline.
Our foreign policy people have learned the art of the public hearing.
Why on earth do we want to help Europe with missile defense, or with any other thing whatsoever? Missile defense makes it harder for Europe to give in to Russian totalitarianism. We’re denying Europeans of their two favorite things: giving in, and totalitarianism.
