Rand Paul Calls McCain and Graham 'Lapdogs' for Obama's Foreign Policy

Finally, some Tuesday fun.

Lindsey Graham and John McCain are “lapdogs” for President Barack Obama’s foreign policy, Rand Paul said Tuesday, at once firing back at recent remarks from the hawkish Republicans and seeking to distinguish his defense credentials.

“This comes from a group of people wrong about every policy issue over the last two decades,” the Kentucky Republican said in an interview with Fox News, touting his credentials as the “one standing up to President Obama.”

This should make things interesting. Very often, the only time John McCain and his political life partner Lindsey Graham aren’t irritating conservatives is when it comes to foreign policy. Not always, of course, but often. Sen. Paul has been as coy as possible about his foreign policy leanings, lest he seem too aligned with Crazy Pops in the attic. This dust-up might just get Paul some positive play with members of the base who just skim headlines, as attacking Maverick and his buddy is never really a bad thing. The Squish Twins haven’t made any friends in the base for years and it may now be at the point where going after them on any issue can’t hurt, even if the attack isn’t completely sound.
